Happi are a traditional Japanese item of clothing worn by shokunin craftsmen. The shirt often displays the names of the workers or the name of their business.
Made using traditional Japanese aizome indigo dying techniques, this happi is the same one as our sentei shokunin wear when they work. The happi helps keep you warm and is easy to move and work in. The happi originates from the Edo period, and it is also worn at festivals in Japan.
